Thom Hartmann: Conversations - Bruce Bartlett "GOP is Full of Crazy Ignorant Tea Partiers" Part 2

Bruce Bartlett, Historian/Domestic Policy Adviser to President Ronald Reagan/Treasury official under President George H. W. Bush/writes for New York Times, Financial Times, Fiscal Times, and Tax Notes magazine joins Thom Hartmann. After suffering major blows in last month's election - it's clear that the Republican party has lost its way. But are Conservatives in Washington ready to face facts - and do what is necessary to once again become a relevant and mainsteam political party?

Mr. Bartlett is a real treasure. Why isn't a man like him at the very head of the Republican Party and the Conservative movement in general? They are willfully rejecting a man who has to be one of their best minds, and doing so merely for the sake of satisfying a few greed-maddened billionaire contributors.

A couple of things Bartlett might consider which would serve to moderate the influence of people like the Koch brothers are implementation of Federally financed elections and limits on the period of time in which those election campaigns can be conducted.
