(22,456 posts)3. Is this new "dress code"...
...going to respect an individual's choice of non-gender-related attire?
Because Fetterman would ROCK in some of sinema's get-ups.

(58,785 posts)7. Trying to distract from those whose VOTES have debased the institution.
NYT article starts out with this hypocrisy:
Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio has accused President Biden of trying to inundate the heartland with fentanyl to punish people who didnt vote for him. He has eagerly promoted the false claim that former President Donald J. Trump won the 2020 election. And recently, he announced his plans to block all nominations to the Justice Department until it stops what he describes as a political prosecution of Mr. Trump.
But on Tuesday, what really galled Mr. Vance was the relaxing of the Senate dress code, which he said would demean Americas government institutions. ...
Senator Cynthia Lummis, Republican of Wyoming, said that We have a bad enough reputation for lack of civility and decorum now, and this just takes it to rock bottom."

Senator Lummis of WY not realizing what a bottom is or that she has none.
If democratic freedoms and the times require it, oh well. I'm open to almost any personal style, certainly never had any complaints about Sinema, pink hair or whatever, or Michelle's bare arms. Am already missing the gracing effect of coverage of unfine bodies, though. There's really no need for Senator Susan Collins' to protest by subjecting the chamber to herself in a bikini when the lesson's already illustrated. But again, freedom.

If it's OK for Empty Greene to show "Dik-pics" in a Committee hearing in the House of Representatives - shorts and a hoody ain't gonna' bother me....
