The people in that video are just testosterone fueled apes with too much horsepower. There's no purpose to it other than wearing out tires and creating smoke.

This is what drifting is for.

Remember, that 50 year old classic sports car has only 90hp and a four speed gearbox. The driver is using the clutch, throttle, and brake simultaneously with two feet.

Notice the front wheel hand brake and ratchet shifter. That car was built for that, and Block is one busy guy in there.
