Rocker Malcolm Young, guitarist and co-founder of AC/DC, died Saturday at the age of 64, Rolling Stone is reporting.
According to the report, Young had been suffering with dementia for the past three years, keeping him from touring with the band which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
Today it is with deep heartfelt sadness that AC/DC has to announce the passing of Malcolm Young, AC/DC wrote in a statement.
Malcolm, along with [brother] Angus, was the founder and creator of AC/DC. With enormous dedication and commitment he was the driving force behind the band. As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man. He always stuck to his guns and did and said exactly what he wanted. He took great pride in all that he endeavored. His loyalty to the fans was unsurpassed.

Happy birthdays, Doug Sahm, of the Sir Douglas Quintet, and George Young, of the Easybeats

1947 {Sic. Wikipedia says it was 1946}, Born on this day, George Young, The Easybeats, (1966 UK No.6 & 1967 US No. 16 single 'Friday On My Mind').
Born in Scotland, Young moved to Australia with his family as a teenager, and became a naturalised citizen. He was a member of the 1960s Australian rock band the Easybeats, and co-wrote with bandmate Harry Vanda the international hits "Friday on My Mind" and "Love Is in the Air", the latter recorded by John Paul Young (who is unrelated). Vanda and Young were also the producers of early work by the Australian hard rock band AC/DC, formed by his younger brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Vanda & Young were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Easybeats were inducted in 2005. Young died on 22 October 2017, aged 70.
He died two weeks ago.
Hey, another quintet. He looks more like he's 12 than 20 in this video:
