The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsIt was recommended that I introduce myself (being as how I'm new here and all).
I'm 51 years old (going on 20) and live in Eastern Connecticut. For the past 10 years, I've worked third shift at a group home for six adults with developmental disabilities. I also host an old school (1960s & '70s) soul-music show on a local non-commercial radio station. I'm a lifelong bachelor and rather like it that way.
My interests include mountain biking, swimming, karaoke (I'm quite a good singer), writing, rock 'n' roll history, record and CD collecting, rockabilly weekenders, and underwater toast farming. My sense of humor runs the gamut from geeky intellectual to jaw-droppingly vulgar.
From age 17-27, I attended approximately 550 midnight screenings of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. Since the early '90s, I have been an avid fan of MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000. And before you ask: yes, I've seen the new season on Netflix. And yes, I liked it quite a bit.

Too bad you're so far from Atlanta. We have a little project of musical satire that can always use new singers, but we only record in Atlanta.
I'm in the German Rheinland and a confirmed married man (with a very good reason for being one). I you like mystery science (no idea what that really is), I wrote a book a while back you might like.
Let me know how the crop of underwater toast is this year. I heard that it flourishes when covered with Roundup.

We're a good group here. Serious news and political discussions are best left to the General Discussion Forum. The lounge is our kick back, relax, have fun and learn new and interesting things forum. Be sure to check out all the other forums listed on the left as well as the Connecticut forum listed in the U.S. category.
Enjoy!
