I was hoping that it wasn't bad news. Not so close to Christmas. After a little small talk, I was given the news.
I was getting a very large raise. I'm so excited.

I should add that my company is really great. The people are very nice. Trump is quite disliked. I was laid off suddenly from my last company so I kind of prepare myself just in case. Plus, I was at my old company for three years without a raise. I have been at this company for a year and they gave me a very nice raise. It is nice to feel appreciated.
