Are there DU get togethers on Christmas day?

This year is was just hubby and me - and frankly it was painful as none of the family invited us.

So I was thinking - how about a DU get together? A pot-luck of sorts? We're in suburban Chicago - anything like that going on?

We're in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Stayed home and was cat sitting for all friends who were out town.

I was thinking there might be several (anyone have restaurants that shut down on Christmas day?) and it would be required pot luck and a small entrance fee (to cover the operator's expenses) and everyone pitches in.

I'm in the Chicagoland area.

Thoughts?

Should we post this in the places section? I just don't want for hubby and me to be alone again - regardless of the weather.

Reminds me of the following Bible verse of the guests not coming to a party so they include everyone. We are everyone.
