(69,838 posts)I watched it until just after the bridge collapse and then went to bed. And then last week, one of the OTA TV stations ran it. I've seen it before, so maybe this weekend I can finish it.
Gee, there was another movie on by Sam Peckinpah, and it also had Warren Oates in it. Thinking .... Ahh, let's check Wikipedia. Oh, of course: Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia
I just think that William Holden didn't know how to make a bad movie. He was in so many good ones.

(15,359 posts)I loved that one. I first saw it in a theater in Ekalaka, MT. Way eastern Montana, affectionately known as West Dakota! I got Shanghai'd at the end of every summer to go out there to hay with my cousins. We had tornado warnings that night, but everyone thought us kid would be as safe there as anywhere.

(2,050 posts)He had a great sense of humor and amazing timing, I sat him down and started the film, he laughed of course.
But when that whole episode started up he started laughing so hard milk came out of my nose, I had never seen him unable to quit laughing before that, one of the highlights of my life.
Still makes me smile just thinking about it.

(33,062 posts)That term was used often since Season 1, and predates Shatner's appearance on the show when he played "The Big Giant Head" in Season 4.
That episode you cite must have been in either Season 5 or Season 6, because I've seen all the episodes from the first 4 seasons (many times) and I don't remember that one, but it sounds hilarious.

(1,051 posts)OK, I admit this was way too obscure. It comes from David Lynch's Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, an underrated film not well received. Typical of Lynch's surrealism, this scene was filmed backward, including having the actors act and recite their lines phonetically backward so that when it is played in reverse, the words can be (mostly) understood. This technique transforms the scene into a dreamlike unreality. Masterful imagery by David Lynch, IMO, but some understandably consider it just plain annoyingly 'artsy'.

Your replies indicate that, like me, you're a true movie buff
Also, my "No fair using Google for this one" is a little ambiguous, since using Google to "post" a line is completely different from using Google to "answer" a line.
(Using Google to post a line is perfectly fine with me)
By the way, I just posted yet another line, and I'll be surprised if anyone gets this one.
