Friday night is Pizza Night at my house

Tell me what kind of pizza is your favorite.

Mine is Brier Hill pizza. Not sure if anyone outside of NE Ohio is familiar with it. Thick crust, Romano cheese, peppers.

Pizza Hut, Marcos, and several local pizzarias which have the best, of course.

2. San Francisco is going through a phase of thin cracker crusts; thin "alternate" sauce & toppings,

and other "imaginative" & outré innovations. Give me thick crust, plenty of rich tomato sauce, and the usual menu of toppings to choose from.

12. When I lived in the City back in the 70s

Pasquale's was my go-to for pizza. I lived in the Sunset...

Pasquale's would custom build the pizza based on the ingredients.

Like you, give me a thick crust, tomato sauce and lots of toppings.

13. There are still a couple of Pasquale's Pizza around- one on Irving (probably yours) and

one on Sloat. They make a solid pizza, and are one of the better thought-of names in pizza here.

The original was the one on Irving...the Sloat Blvd one was built to focus on delivery Pizzas...glad to hear they're still there...

Speaking of Sloat blvd....too bad Doggie Diner went out of business...no place better for hotdogs and fries.

Damn I miss the City...

15. Three of the Doggie Diner heads have been saved and restored. They appear from time to time.

They've become kind of an iconic artistic statement that you see around unexpectedly. They're always an amusing and welcome sight.

3. Pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives and some times anchovies.

Also like a White Pizza with sliced tomatoes, garlic, black olives and broccoli.
