A favorite color, no Blues, just Blue.

(5,807 posts)by the Stray Birds. My daughter and son in law got engaged at a Stray Birds concert in Asheville, NC. He contacted them beforehand to ask them to play this song, and he gave my daughter a sapphire ring. Aww, so romantic.

(33,643 posts)Basically it's Country ... that doesn't suck.
Like Gram Parsons, Nitty Gritty, The Flying Burritos, Townes, Emmylou, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Lyle Lovett, the nexus of Uncle Tupelo/Wilco/Son Volt, Drive-By Truckers, Jason Isbell, Sons of Bill, Avett Brothers, Iron and Wine, Sturgill Simpson, Alabama Shakes ... I could go on and on ... and there's also a lotta ROCK involved in that list, but ... yeah.
Love me some good Americana/Roots Rock ...

(4,017 posts)Was Lou the lead singer for Foreigner and went solo ? What a great song man. I have to bookmark my own thread just for this!
True Dough
(26,083 posts)His solo career was always overshadowed by his Foreigner hits, but he had some great songs of his own. Just Between You and Me was another fantastic single.

I mean ... no, seriously ... everytime I wonder if those old U2 bastards still have it after all these years ... they pull shit out like this and I go ... uh ... yup.
It's kinda unprecedented what they've managed ... 38 years in, and it's still the same 4 lads from Dublin, with zero line-up changes, and aside from Rattle and Hum, no outside players ... and they're still making relevant music today (even if it isn't as great as their heyday) ... and still can absolute KILL 'live' ... U2 are friggin special, man. I don't care what anyone says.
