My mom had a good long life before passing at the age of 96 last Thursday. I miss her terribly, as she always laughed at my jokes even when others didn't. That aside, her mind was sharp as a tack to the end, for which we were fortunate.

And I have good news about Tommy: he had been diagnosed with lymphoma a few months ago and has had a few flareups, the most serious one this past weekend when the left side of his face swelled up so much his left eye was nearly closed and he stopped eating and hid. I really thought it was the end but he has rebounded after a trip to the vet Monday. Today, the swelling is quite reduced and he is screaming for noms. I don't know how much time he has left but he's good for now. Maybe some of those world-renown DU Lounge vibes helped.
