you should be religious enough to know when it starts.

The only way I remember when Lent is now is our local volunteer fire dept has an annual Friday fried fish dinners fundraiser through Lent and we always make a point of getting one at least once since it's a good cause.

They all gave up soda, chocolate, they'll do some community service things, etc etc.

Me? I gave up Catholicism for lent....no offense to anyone. I support almost any faith or spirituality with works....I have my own avenues is all.
