...although, frankly, I always thought those backing singers sounded like the chorus of chickens that would often accompany the guest star on The Muppet Show from that same era.

Of course, that was just hearing the song on the radio, without the visuals of ONJ from your clip. That was just a few years before music videos took off; if they’d been as popular in the late '70s as in the mid-'80s, I'll bet this song would have been an even bigger hit.
