My sister and I would run in and out around the sheets hanging on the line ... Got in trouble if you knocked the "clothes prop" down!

(2,047 posts)3. I have the "carousel" style clothes line.

Back in the day (1950's) we lived on a small farm in PA when I was a kid and we had a clothes line in the backyard.
We moved to a small city in 1960 and my mom had a clothesline on the back porch.
She didn't use a clothes dryer until she and dad moved into a 'senior citizen high-rise' around 1975.

I am looking forward to when the weather is good for hanging clothes! I miss the stiff towels that seem so much more absorbent when they have dried on the line!
