I have been taking care of some old sick cats and think the cat in this video is probably old. Normally the cat jumps, using his hindquarters. This cat had no jump in him.
I had a cat whose muscles in the hindquarters wasted away due to diabetes and another one due to kidney disease.
Time to get that cat something it can use as a step to get on chairs.
