Clinical medicine takes a lot out of you. I love it, but it comes at a cost...

A wine-buzz helps take the edge off...

but thanks for the offer.

actually.... here's a "hypothetical"

if you've been taking X amount of a blood pressure drug that seems to be maintaining your blood pressure and your crazy fucking new doctor who you can't stand doubles it can that possibly lower your blood pressure too much and create a problem (such as functioning, driving, working around children)?

low blood pressure.

If you want to know if that's the case, but don't want to visit with your doctor whom you can't stand, go to your local fire station and ask them to take your blood pressure. They'll do it for free (your tax dollars at work) and you can get a good accurate reading. They're trained professionals who do this all day, every day. And they have well-maintained, up-to-date equipment to do it with.

Your blood pressure shoud ideally be between 90/60 and 140/90. A few points below (say, 88/59) won't hurt, but still, if it's below the threshold, get your doctor to lower your dose, or find a new doctor.

The good news is that I didn't require any surgery on the leg that was bit by a cat. The bad news is that Augmentin lead to too many trips to the bathroom and laundry room.

My primary care physician disagreed with the hospital doctor and surgeon about whether I needed surgery, but the ultrasound did not show anything that needed to be lanced. The PCP also was upset that they took me off the Augmentin and Clindamycin to substitute Clarithromycin instead. I told the PCP that I was only the messenger and that if he had an issue that it was up to him to discuss it with the doctors at the hospital. Unfortunately, my PCP has a bit of the "God complex" so I took some pleasure taking him down a notch while being completely pleasant to him simultaneously.

I have a conference this morning that I had to go to bed early for. Plus, Mrs. Aristus called it a day earlier than usual...

I'll be able to stick around longer next time...
