I lived in NOLA and my favorite restaurant was The Market Café. Enjoy the Big Easy!

About 90 min before sunset, go walk through St Louis Cathederal, lovely building. Then after that, the Jackson Square park in front of the cathedral is closed for the night, there will be dozens of feral cats who 'cat magically' appear. There will also be numerous street artists & musicians who also appear to entertain people.

You lucky couple.

Then take in the art and music scene in that area. You won’t be disappointed.

The Ruby Slipper isn’t a bad place to go for breakfast. I like the Croissant D'Or Patisserie better, but it’s a bit of a hike from where you’re staying. I like to go to the Red Fish Grill and have a bowl of gumbo and the BBQ oysters appetizer.

Crunchy top and several different cheese's. The entree's are all great too! Mother's is another NOLA local favorite as is Acme Oyster Bar. Have a great time!

Sure, the muffulettas are pre-wrapped and not as good as when fresh, but they travel well for you to grab on your way out of town. Plus pick up some of the spread and try to make your own at home.

The poboys from Crescent City Brewhouse are pretty good as well.

I miss NOLA.

Meshiya Lake just left town I think same with the great string band Yes Ma'am. There seem to be a slew of other good street bands down there lately so some are sure to be playing.

Tuba Skinny is incredible. Really makes me wish I'd been a musician and has me seriously considering trying to learn to play an instrument now.

Ewan Bleach is back playing sax. Such a lovely tone. I seem to be stuck on Echo in the Dark. Little slice of magic.
My husband's ready to take up the clarinet again.

Mid-Up Town has a joint called Atchafalaya, Bloody-Mary build your own “buffet”, and Poached Eggs over Duck Hash, best breakfast in New Orleans.

On Edit; Do not start your day with a Hand Grenade, it’s a really bad life choice

It isn’t too far from your hotel. Lots of character to the place and many celebrities and anybody who is anybody has eaten there. 😉 They have the pictures on the wall to prove it. Nothing fancy but a plate full of eggs, sausage, grits and biscuits.

I’m in Seattle now BUT...

Drago’s (its at Harrah’s) for charbroiled oysters
Frenchmen St. (Spotted Cat and Blue Nile in particular) for amazing music.
Ride the St. Charles streetcar all the way to the end and back. It’s wonderful.
St.Louis #1 Cemetery-you have to tour now; people were too rude to be able to just go.
The carriages at Jackson Square really are fun.
If you want real New Orleans royalty have lunch at Dooky Chase’s. Any cab driver can get you there.
The Honey Island swamp tour really is fun.
The Carousel Bar at the Monteleone Hotel in the Quarter is world famous.

And a million more.

Have a blast. ❤️
