Found A Lost Puppy Yesterday

Stupid me, no pix.

So, i'm watching TV in the rec room and my wife calls down and says there is a dog in the yard running in circles in the same spot.

I go outside (my garage is in the basement so i can walk directly out to the back yard) and there is a little dog with a leash. I realize he's stuck on a decorative bronze trellis. So i go over to untangle, and it turns out the leash is actually HOOKED to the trellis. He's too little to pull it out because it's hooked right at the ground.

So, i unhook him take him over to the back of the house and hooked it to my dog's "when i'm out there working" leash that is connected to the old TV aerial tower.

My wife calls police non-emergency and cop comes over, takes a pic and is going to call animal control.

Now, thinking that someone abandoned the doggie because the leash was actually hooked to the decoration, we're already thinking we're not letting this doggie get put down.

Just before cop leaves some people in a blue SUV are driving slowly down the side street calling out the window, so i flag them down. It's their doggie.

His name was Bruno and he went tail wagging crazy when he saw the two of them.

Still can't figure out how the leash actually got hooked onto the trellis unless some walker snagged the dog, hooked it there knowing we have a dog, and moved on.

Weird circumstances, but happy ending!

She heard the woman tell the cop "He forgot to hook him up to the stake." Forgot?

Poor little pup! He must have been so frightened. Thank you for taking care of him!
