Check the web site of the airport you'd want to depart from and they'll probably have a list. Be sure not to hire anyone that doesn't have an FAA Part 135 certificate (if they don't they're not legal, but there are a few dodgy operators out there).

As a commercial pilot I can fly a passenger for profit in my airplane from point A to B provided I do not advertise that service. In other words if someone comes up to me and requests that service, I can provide it on a for-profit basis with a few qualifiers. A private pilot can do the same thing on a pro rata cost sharing basis.

However, if you advertise such a service and aren't operating under a part 135 certificate, then you are in violation of FAA regulations. At one time there was a service that linked passengers and pilots together, but IIRC the FAA took a dim view of it and I'm not sure if they are still in existence.

You cannot fly passengers for hire in your aircraft without a Part 135 certificate. Someone can hire you to fly them in their aircraft as a part 91 operation. But you cannot use your own aircraft as an air taxi.

You can do it under limited circumstances. The most obvious is 91.321. Not sure if the OP could or would want to meet any of those circumstances.

That regulation only applies to flying candidates for public office for pay. It is an extremely limited exception that does not apply to the OP's question.

But there's also other ways to do what the OP is asking. With common cause they can rideshare with someone and split costs on a pro-rata basis.
