Unless I'm forced to eat MREs every day again, I will never taste peanut butter for the rest of my life.
Plain cheese spread either. No. Never. Nope.

(25,959 posts)Lots of people think this is gross, but I was raised on pancakes with peanut butter and I adore them. Subbing Irish Cream for the milk and adding bourbon and butter to the syrup makes them out of this world!

I've always liked waffles more than pancakes. Just wish I knew how to make waffles like they do in Belgium, so divine!

If you like peanut butter on your pancakes ( and I do. YUM!), go for it.
If not, don't do it.

(4,047 posts)As long as you use real maple syrup. Not that god-forsaken sludge that is derived from corn and made to taste like (but never quite hits the mark) maple syrup.
That corn syrup detritus is just horrible.

(15,190 posts)Every Friday night, mom would start the sourdough mother, get the loaves prepped on Saturday, and we would use the leftover starter for pancakes or waffles on Sunday.
Yum...nice and crispy on the outside, tangy and fluffy on the inside.

(32,690 posts)I'm too lazy to even cook pancakes these days, but I do love French Toast, and I use "real" maple syrup, heated up.
btw, speaking of peanut butter, instead of peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, (which I haven't liked since I was a kid), how about peanut butter, honey & banana sandwiches, on lightly toasted whole grain bread?

I had peanut butter and cream corn and got sick that night.
I have hardly eaten either in 48 years since.

There is a burger joint in Kenosha, WI, by the name of Captain Mike's, that offers peanut butter on burgers. Both our sons attended Carthage College there, and it was a very popular spot - no reservations and long waits.
