He became known to fans as "The Storyteller," thanks to his storytelling skills in his songwriting.

I was such a Kottke fanatic in the 70s, I even sought out the guy who made his guitars and had him make me 8 custom made guitars, all different, between 1977 and 2000. I still have every one of them! His English sucked, but his instruments were timeless.
