"Stewart's."
Uses real sugar, not that &%$#@!!! high-fructose corn syrup.
$1.23 for 12 ounces.
I seldom buy soft drinks, but a friend heard me griping about A & W.

(15,378 posts)That tastes like the kind I bought at ball games and drank from paper cups as a kid. I'm not sure what the quality is, but every now and then, it re-surfaces.
A few years ago, I bought a Coke in a round bottle. It was Christmas, and they put Coke out in them to look like tree ornaments. Best Coke I ever had. For a while, I was convinced it was somehow related to being in a round container, but subsequent purchases destroyed that hypothesis.

(27,792 posts)I'd like to find a root beer that uses sodium-free filtered water, like Ocean Spray juices do.
[I love Ocean Spray White Cran-Strawberry]
Hansen's sodas, including root beer, are also good,[Hansen Beverages, Tustin, CA]
They use cane sugar, & are "Always Free from artificial flavors, sodium and caffeine"

(36,827 posts)When I was a kid, my dad used to make it with yeast to produce the CO2 and bottle it. You can do the same thing with repurposed 2 liter bottles.
Theres a number of RB flavoring you can buy online. Some of it has very unique flavors you cant find in commercially prepared RB. Just mix with sugar and fizzy water.

(3,105 posts)and ginger ale are highly underrated. I don't drink soda as a general rule, but everyone in a while, will go for a cup of ice and a root beer or ginger ale. I've had Stewarts and it is very good
