It's a Quest, a Quest for information.

I would like to know how many of you can access my old DU account.

Username: catabryna
Password: winnertakesitall or thewinnertakesitall

This is Carole Brennan. You have my permission to see if you can access my account. It was lost after the DU hack of November 8, 2016.

Edited to add: I received no response when I asked for this to be fixed.

1. Did you contact EarlG about this?

He helped me access my account (from 2003) after the election day hack - I couldn't access that old email. He should be able to help you, too.

2. I tried. No response.

That is why I changed my nick and moved on. But, now I've found that there might be a reason why I didn't receive a response, and I want to know why.

If you were in my situation, wouldn't you like to know why you haven't received a response?

3. Did you PM, email? EarlG posts every weekday. It's possible it got overlooked

I really think you should try again. He got back to me fairly quickly and back then there must have been a lot more of us asking for help.

4. We aren't allowed to PM the Administrators...

We must ask them in the proper forum.

No need. I just took pics of both operating systems I will post them as soon as I find a reliable hosting site. Hopefully later today, after I get my son off to school and take a nap. I should have been asleep an hour ago, but now I'm wound up.

Edited to add: Sometimes, you need to go old school and use a regular camera.

5. Why aren't we allowed to PM the admins?

I had several PM exchanges with Skinner a couple of years ago when there was a problem when I was a host - and so did several of my fellow hosts. I just clicked on the prompt to PM EarlG and it worked. Wishing you luck with this. I was not up to starting over here, either.

6. Why do we have an "Ask the Administrators" forum?

Because they would prefer that we communicate with them that way. As you know, Earl isn't the only administrator.

I'm still awaiting a response on my offer to host the aspergers/pdd forum.

7. Skinner hasn't answered questions in AtA for quite awhile

That's why I suggested you contact EarlG. He posts just about every day and he's the one who helped me.

8. I will keep this in mind.

I do not, however, think he will be interested in my issues if he thinks I am nutso. I've been called out so many times around here that I've resorted to putting people on ignore. I hate that, but it helps me maintain my sanity.

9. Well, contacting EarlG sounds like your best bet to me

He certainly helped me and we know that many DUers had the same problem after the hack. I'm on MIRT and we're still seeing members who were locked out and finally starting over and we suggest the same thing to them - EarlG can help you out. Nobody wants to go through the hassle of starting over.

10. Did you make that request by posting on ATA or through the link in the aspergers/pdd forum?

If you didn't do it through the forum link, you might try that.

Good luck!
