(13,892 posts)I recently bought a bathroom vanity/countertop/mirror combo. When it came it was damaged. Nothing I could not fix but was curious what the vendor wanted to do. Took some pic's and sent them off to the vendor. He said, yes it was damaged in transit and they will send a new vanity!. No problems.. I asked what to do with the "damaged" vanity. He said to send it to Habitat for Humanity and have them write the receipt to his company.. That was smart and a win/win/win all around. I got a new vanity, Habitat got a very good slightly damaged piece and the company got a tax deduction instead of a loss or cost to return..
Everybody happy..

(32,449 posts)and gives to homeless shelters. Nothing wrong with items. Just unsellable because packaging damaged or opened. Customers open LOTS of stuff in the store. I know from having worked in a store decades ago.
Even if we left one box opened, people still opened a new box to touch the merchandise.
