My granddaughter is awesome.

Lexie was diagnosed with T1D diabetes last July. She is eight years old.
There's a special camp held for these kids every summer.
The family's portion of the cost is $200.
Lexie just joined 4H and is doing the cooking project.
One activity in the project is to hold a bake sale so she figured she could raise some money for camp.
When the dust cleared Wednesday afternoon, she had collected over 400 dollars. (Big shout out to all those who paid 5 bucks for a cinnamon roll).
Last night was a meeting at the school and my daughter ran into another parent whose 9 yr old daughter is T1D also. Making conversation, my daughter asked if they had signed up for the camp. The woman replied that they did make the $10 down payment, but couldn't raise the rest to go this year.
At that point, my daughter felt a tug on her back pocket and Lexie was looking up at her and said; "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
Yep, that's one fine kid we got there.

You should be very proud. That is a great story.

Best of health to your granddaughter and the rest of the family.
