(2,410 posts)My first pets were dogs, so my cats were always raised the same way and all became rather sociable. But the water engagement is quite the neat trick!

(9,070 posts)I've taught all of my cats how to fetch, hence the description.
Great minds and all......: )

(2,410 posts)that that's how she raised her cats and so came up with the name!
But, yeah. We started with tin foil balls and bouncy super balls, but she would fetch them back to me.
She's getting older, but will still rise the chase on occasion!

(5,106 posts)We had one who used to jump in the bathtub and paddle around. I've always felt guilty because one day I went into our adjoining bedroom to answer the phone before I'd added cold water to cool down the hot water in the tub. She jumped in, then straight up in the air and out. That was the last time she swam in the tub, and years later, I still feel badly that I spoiled her fun. (She wasn't hurt, at least).

Inspired by a story about a beautiful friendship between a puppeteer and a former community activist that he first read on Laughing Squid, filmmaker David Friedman decided to explore the subject further and created Rick & Doris: An Unconventional Friendship in New York City. With Puppets, a short original piece for the newly formed AARP Studios.
It was while his marionettes were performing in the park on July 30 that Diether, who temporarily lost her voice a year ago due to an injury, first approached him. One day she comes up to me and whispers, I have something for you,' he recalled. Opening a scrap book she revealed old newspaper clippings and articles she had written on marionettes back in 1974. Articles more recently added to her collection were ones she had seen on Syers work, which she cut out and saved for him. The gesture floored him. This marionette thing has bonded us, he said of their common interest, which inspired him to create the marionette resembling her in honor of her. The charming little puppet featuring Diethers short, white hair and rosy cheeks comes complete with a handbag, cane, and floral blouse and skirt.

(149,620 posts)I keep a spray bottle in the kitchen with a weak soapy water mixture, in order to kill ants and to do minor cleanups.
I had just filled it, and the sunlight made an interesting pattern. And the rest is history!

(1,020 posts)I love me those LOLcatz and I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but a big 'spensive coffee table-type book which just went on sale appears to have that 2nd-to-last photo in it - as best as I can tell - and the book along with the photos it contains are copyrighted material.
I make my living off copyrights so I'm particularly sensitive to this.
Thanks

(1,020 posts)Try checking at the bottom of the web page. Bottom-of-page is where one usually sees the copyright notice.
I'm no expert, nor am I an attorney. My comment was more of a "411" thing. And I appreciate your comment! Thanks!
