The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsF sirius, and all radio: I am now pod-listening in my car: bluetooth tablet. Awesome!!!!
I've fired sirius because they moved Fugelsang on Insight to noon-2. He used to be my drive-home, and 3 hours. I'm PISSED!!!
So, I fired their asses. I'm sick of the same songs they play over and over, and now I've got podcasts on topics I choose and by experts I want to learn from. I don't want to use my data driving, so, I've downloaded a great podcast player and it runs through my car's system on bluetooth. I've got hours of good material ready for me wherever I go, so, when I get stuck in traffic, I'm happy. My brain is busy with great people who don't get the broadcasting they deserve,
AND IT"S FREE AND THERE ARE NO EFFING COMMERCIALS!!!!!!
Welcome to the 21st century!!!!!! YEEESSSS!!!!

(8,051 posts)I recently accepted a position that involves a significant commute. My car is older so I don't have a "smart" radio. So what I do is download my podcasts on my cell from home using my home wifi. The podcast goes the the hard drive so I don't use my date (I don't know if this is the right lingo). I have a handy little portable speaker that I connect to my phone with a cord. I can then listen to whatever I've downloaded. The first show I listened to was Serial and it was great!

(20,686 posts)I love the interwebs. The podcasts download instantly, and don't take up any room in the tablet, so, i can get weeks of podcasts downloaded in a few minutes. This. Is. Better.

I got a Spotify account and thirty playlists. No commercials. My fav tunes, all the time.
