I'm a dog person.
Cats are OK, I guess... But my heart is for the pooches.
I'm sure that some of you will never forgive me for my apparent indiscretion... Being a dog person in the Realm of Felininity, but I just had to be honest about it.
If you can't find it in your heart to forgive me, I do understand.
In spite of that, I declare that I have nothing to apologize for.

(17,235 posts)For me, got to have both cats and dogs. The more the merrier, within reason. I can understand your canine affection, but you are missing the boat without feline love and affection too. It is ALL the best stuff on Earth!

(2,218 posts)I've always had Australian Shepherd dogs until this year. My last Aussie died in 2017. I am 70 and worry about dying with a devoted Aussie who would grieve, terribly.
My roommate/partner adopted a Min Pin last year, and he is a sweet dog but not an Aussie.
In the meantime, my 4 cats have been happily enjoying the extra attention. I have never been without a cat, multiple cats, in my life.
So I guess I prefer cats. But I love Aussie dogs. But I am not so particular about which cats I love.
Both. I love both.

And dogs don't keep their poop in boxes scattered around the house. Waiting to be emptied - by hand.
And if you owned a shit-eatin' dog like I did, you don't even have to worry about mowing your yard!
Of course - I might be slightly biased.
