I often think that we don't celebrate Milestones like we used to. Do you remember newyawker99 and her Milestone threads? How she kept up is a mystery to me, but she never forgot anybody whether it was 100 or 10,000!
wish I did, she sounded like someone who cared for everyone here with keeping those milestones.
I think I found DU in January of 2003 and newyawker99 welcomed me, as she did so many others, on my very first post.
I'd never been on any kind of message board before and I kinda panicked when I got a reply on my first post! But it turned out to be newyawker99, welcoming me to DU. I think that was in January of 2003 and she became my first friend on DU. We were mods together in 2007, my first term as a mod, and she did such a stellar job welcoming newbies and acknowledging Milestones, I can't help wondering what happened. We've seen numerous threads about that over the years, but nobody seems to know for sure, not even the admins. All I know is that she wasn't well.
