(1,547 posts)Been eating crabs my whole life, will be 75 this week. My grandfather was a crabber/oysterman for a living so I learned to pick crabs early. I live in Colorado now and visit back home in the fall usually for 4 weeks, plenty of time to get my fill.

In a restraunt called Chestnut St. Cafe here in Ohio which closed and is now a Imported brewing bar and restraunt. So I always think about the soft shelled crab they served everytime I have ever gone back to visit
Nothing could compare!

(24,906 posts)I love blue crab as well as most other kinds of crab. Steamed crab, crab cakes, crab louie, etc.
But I can't stomach soft shell crab.

(63,221 posts)I like every kind of crab except soft-shell. King crab is the best. We always have that on Christmas w/ beef tenderloin or prime rib.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
