from the embassy attended. After the show, a few of them went backstage to greet Williams and tell him how much they enjoyed the show.

Allegedly, one of them asked him: "How come we don't have anyone as funny as you back home?"

Williams responded: "Because you killed them all."

This was referenced obliquely in an episode of The West Wing.
