I beat the Lotto odds!

I played the Powerball AND the megamillion and I didn't get one number. NOT ONE NUMBER, from either lotto.

I hit a few numbers on megamillions, but not in a way that I won anything. Nobody won Megamillions, I think the next drawing which I think will be Tuesday will by 1.6 billion

I have never bought more than one ticket. If I'm destined to win, that's all I need. I don't buy for every drawing. In fact, I usually don't play. I'll buy a chance at the $1.6 billion. Dreaming about what I'd do with the winnings is entertaining enough to be worth the $3.

I never really read what that megaplier thing that costs an extra dollar is. I think I'll stop getting it.

10. The megaplier multiplies any win other than the top jackpot by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times.

Thus, if you won "only" the million $$ prize with a megaplier of 5, you'd actually win $5M. The megaplier number is separate from the MegaMillions number, but drawn at the same time.

5. Some years back

I dropped in to see my calculus teacher at his office at the junior college. I noticed a lottery ticket on his desk, and knowing that math teachers NEVER buy lottery tickets, asked him about it. He'd bought it to demonstrate to his statistics class that the chance of getting even one number was quite low. To his disgust (and he really was annoyed) he'd actually gotten one or two numbers on the ticket. I shudder to think how upset he'd have been had he won.

7. I quit playing that scam when they increased the numbers

Picking what? 5 numbers out of 70? PLUS you have to hit the power ball number? That's what? 1 out of 20 numbers? No thanks.
