The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHave I missed anything on my monthly budget list?
I'm trying to make sure I haven't missed anything so far, so here's what I've accounted for:
Mortgage
Electric
Groceries
Toiletries/Cleaning Supplies
Car Insurance
Life Insurance
Heating and Hot Water
Septic
Cellphone
Internet
Cable
Car Payment
Student Loan Payment
Netflix
Garbage
Home Repairs and Maintenance
Gas
Savings
Car Maintenance
Medical Co-Pays
Entertainment Funds
Clothing
Diapers and Baby Supplies
I feel like I'm forgetting something. Does anything stand out as missing on my list that a normal married couple with a toddler would be paying for? We don't need daycare, so that's not listed.

bourbon
rent
food
cigarettes
other bills
Is there something I've left out?

(2,682 posts)We pay for water coming into the house. Your item of "hot water" only covers, well, hot water. "Septic" is the water leaving the house.
NickB79
(19,233 posts)Technically, our water bill is part of our electric bill, since it requires electricity to run the lift pump and pressure tank. The septic is for the bi-annual pumping of the septic tank in the backyard.

(19,233 posts)Oh wait, I did budget that in. It's whatever spare change my 2-yr old picks up when we go to the park

(8,646 posts)I know some places have free checking but my bank doesn't and I pay about $11/month for unlimited transactions.

(19,233 posts)And I specifically asked to speak to the bank's manager, told him why I was cancelling my account, and that I was transferring it to a no-fee credit union.

maybe occasional appliances, unless you cover that under home maintenance - like coffee pot kinda stuff.
