They really do not have 20 or so shows. I think that the next one will be after the election.

But why bring back this miserable SOB which, I've heard if off his meds?

See: https://lastnighton.com/2018/10/20/saturday-night-live-new-oct-20/

(snip)

Season 44 of Saturday Night Live has been off to a strong start through the first three episodes. Does it return for an all new episode tonight? Saturday Night Live remains one of the most unique shows on television. In a matter of days, sketches are written, edited, and rehearsed before performed in front of a live audience. And don’t forget the costume design and set construction necessary each week.

So with that kind of grind that goes into producing each show, you can forgive SNL for taking a week off after the first three episodes of the season. That’s right, there is no new episode this week.

Implies the next new one will be on Nov. 3rd.......

Isn't the nature of the job to work through that "grind" and produce a show each week? Following the excuse or logic of that article, should we come to expect and accept a repeat show every fourth week since they apparently have only enough steam to produce three episodes before burning out?

I tuned into SNL this week, not realizing it was to be a repeat. Couldn't figure out what was going on and couldn't believe they'd repeat an episode from just a couple of weeks ago. Surely, I thought, this must be a mistake. Did they all take a vacation this week?

Disappointing.

I was annoyed that I stayed up for that. Oh well!

Plus, Bill Maher had on a bunch of old clips on Friday night. Maybe no one is in a funny mood anymore.
