A 12-week-old endangered Florida panther kitten that was rescued after being struck by a vehicle likely will not be able to be released back into the wild, the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported.
Staff from the FWC and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service found the kitten unresponsive off State Road 82 in Collier County last month.
Rescuers took the kitten to the Animal Specialty Hospital of Florida in Naples for treatment.
Veterinarians didn't find major fractures or signs of significant internal damage. They think the panther suffers from some level of head trauma.

(32,074 posts)Even if he winds up not being able to mate due to brain damage, he can still probably be a sperm donor. I guess that's something. Poor, little guy.
