I'm glad it isn't bothering you anymore.

My aunts and I accidentally invited a presence to us when we were just kids, I was 7. We were playing with a nickel like it was ouija board. We'd ask Yes (heads) tails (no) questions about our aunt's apparent suicide and all manner of taboo events in our lives that we wanted answers about. The amount of faith we put in it gave it power I think.

The night the nickel was glowing bright green for hours with all of us afraid to move screaming for parents who somehow never heard us.. us three girls finally got the courage to join hands and use the fireplace shovel to scoop it up and throw in the neighbor's yard. Peace out demon!

An owl sighting...I walk the perimeter of our home at night on occasion..some warm nights in AZ..very quiet area - sky is beautiful at night..this one particular night..I heard an owl, often occurrence..but this time the owl was very close..I just couldn't identify where it was..looking for silhouette - nope, can't see him...we have palm trees and huge Ponderosa Pines...

So I walked back to front door, we are so close to the 2nd tee box on a golf course, we need nets to protect the south side of house from golf balls...I hear the owl again, this time, I slowly turned around, looked up at the net polls..and low and behold..I have two gorgeous, fluffy footed owls, one on each end of the net. The sighting was so beautiful, I quietly opened the front door, woke hubby so he could enjoy...

Our wildlife is what I enjoy the most, the heat not so much - coyotes enjoy running through the course sprinklers...geese "walking down the pathway" on occasion, from the ponds. I have been told there are bobcat sightings, and Javelina - ..I haven't seen them -

Thank you for your ghost story, I have one also..but for another time....

The entire experience of entertainment is to entertain! It doesn't have to be real!

I love a good science fiction tale if the authors get most of the Science right. I love a good fantasy, such as Harry Potter or Tolkien's Ring, where the authors create a consistent and logical universe for their stories. And I do love a good supernatural scary movie/novel/TV show if there's an exciting and coherent tale behind the inevitable gore and violence.

In reality, I just don't believe there are ghosts or spirits existing amongst us. They could be here in some extra dimensions but there aren't any scientific observations, only anecdotal ones.

In one of his lectures, Lawrence Krauss observes that eye-witness testimony carries profound weight in our legal systems. In Science, however, eye-witness testimony is laughably ineffective. That's why we have to build machines like the Hadron collider or the LIGO gravitational wave detectors: our human senses are incapable of detailed observations.

In your post, I sense your desire for something greater. I suggest you look at our universe as exhibited by astronomy. It's huge, old, full of variety and glorious.

What's even more wonderful to me is that if there is no after-life, it means that these lives of consciousness that we are experiencing are profoundly precious. We should use our best efforts to use our extraordinarily brief lives to do good and wonderful things and to make ourselves the best people we can become.

(I hope that doesn't sound too preachy!)

Good advice!

Speaking of astronomy, 2 days ago on "Stardate," the subject was a giant star cluster in Sagittarius.
"For more than 25 years, a team of astronomers has used a radio telescope in England to monitor a pulsar in the cluster - the collapsed core of a once-mighty star.
The star is near the cluster's heart..And it spins almost 200 times a second."

It spins almost 200 times a SECOND.

A pulsar rotating at 200 times a second! That's amazing especially if you consider the size and space that such an action would require.

Consider this: A neutron star with the mass of our Sun would have a diameter of less than 10 miles. If it were rotating at a similar rate, the result of the tremendous output of energy would probably shred its solar system and perhaps cause damage to any nearby solar systems within its galaxy.

The universe doesn't care about our existence or survival.

Tuning into the subtle multidimensional realm of life

If it does not come naturally for you, you could develop it. There are many paths to take to open this part of yourself. Native peoples all over the world used psychedelics. Regular mediation will help. You could take classes on how to develop your psychic self or intuition. Kundalini Yoga done as a regular practice could awaken your subtle self. A shaktipat Guru will awaken your subtle self.

For those that it comes naturally, they may have been born a partial or a full medium. Trauma can also open a person to the subtle multidimensional realms. A friend of mine had this happen from natural childbirth (no pain meds). The birth of her 1st daughter blew her consciousness wide open. Another friend of mine had her consciousness blown open when she was told by the doctor she has Multiple Sclerosis. Both these examples are how trauma can do it.

If you do go after this and have the constitution for it to happen, make sure you have knowledgeable support to help you navigate life with an open awareness. For some, it can be gentle and gradual, and for others it could be a full-blown spiritual crisis that can shatter a person taking years of recovery.

My best advice; go slow (if that is an option) and with support. Meditation and psychic development classes will be the more gradual, gentler methods verses going to the Amazon for an ayahuasca (psychedelic) ceremony. A friend of mine went for the ayahuasca ceremony, you know the one that makes you puke and have the runs. He said he cried and cried for the mind-blowing experience to stop.

The point is, when you open to subtle realms you experience what happens in our multidimensional universe.

Some of us are natural experiencers. I didn't have to do anything to develop my abilities and I have experienced and continue to experience things most people wouldn't even dream of. One of the odder abilities I have (that one doesn't hear a lot about) is the through the sense of smell. This is a humdrum story, but then, it often is that way with these abilities. Not everything is spectacular or meaningful.

I was on the way to meet a friend who was shopping for sweaters before she went to Ireland. We met a boutique-type place. On my way to meet her, I detected a most unusual aroma; this was while driving in my car.

While she tried on sweaters, I browsed at a table of candles. I chose one that was "dill" scented. I've always loved dill, so I bought it. Arriving home, I lit it--and immediately recognized the aroma that I had sniffed earlier in my car was the candle I had just bought.

So in other words, I smelled my dill candle before I bought it.

But this is just one of hundreds or maybe even thousands of experiences. With this ability, life is definitely different than it is for most people. I have a group of friends who are this way and who understand what it's like to go through a life with abilities that are different than most.

It's a way of knowing that doesn't depend on logic or observation.

I once dated a statistical genius in NYC. He is well known in lefty circles, is very wealthy, and has a foundation to support left wing causes. He said something to me that I never forgot: that I could come to a conclusion faster than he could--and he didn't know how I did it. He was talking about my ability to intuit.

This ability can be cultivated, but I don't think many people who have no idea what it's about or no belief in it whatsoever would have a very easy time of it. I don't normally cultivate my abilities, but if I do, the world very suddenly goes haywire as I start getting information in from so many sources.

36. Mediumship
Mon Oct 29, 2018, 08:42 AM
Oct 2018

You are probably a full medium. Mediumship is something we are born with, either partial or full. It is in your throat on a subtle level. Have you ever made an unconscious motion of putting your hand to your throat or pinching your throat? Sometimes mediums try to close it some by these actions. Mediumship manifests differently for each one. Edgar Cayce was a full medium and his entire being was taken over and he would have no memory of the experiences.

I believe all the 'natural sensitives' are mediums. I also believe mediumship is the evolution of the human being. A natural evolution. The youth I come across display this for sure. Some question if the rise in autism is part of the human being evolving, for many autistic children have heightened skills and sensitivities, yet they have trouble functioning in other ways.

Mediums have a choice about how their abilities are utilized for themselves and if they want to use them. Some make a living from their abilities, others live with them quietly. It certainly makes life very interesting to have mediumship! I have been experiencing phenomenon my entire life, so I understand your words.

would take his life, I woke up in the middle of the night to see a bright light come through the wall opposite my bed, move to the corner of the room, then slowly fade out.

It freaked me out, but I didn't get out of bed. I rolled over on my side away from it and pulled up the covers.

I tried to get back to sleep, but about 3 minutes later, I felt 'something' sit down on the edge of the bed next to me. At that point I bolted up, got out of bed, and turned on the light to find...nothing there.

Years before that, I was renting one side of an old (1940s?) one bedroom duplex.

There were several odd things that went on there, (a whispering & laughing voice that came out of my computer speakers one night, a disappearing crucifix that had been nailed to the inside wall above the door by the previous renter, etc.) but one of the weirdest was when I ran into my neighbors one morning and they asked me what the heck was going on last night.

I told them that I didn't know what they were talking about, but they said they heard the sound of a door opening and slamming shut, clearly coming from my side of the duplex, once or twice an hour, all night long.

I heard nothing at all out of the ordinary at any time that night. They never reported hearing it again.

Mostly relatives. My Dad twice and my biological Father (mother married twice) and a child. Mostly they seemed to be checking on us/me. My Father came once when I had my daughter on my knee. She followed him with her eyes and when he smiled at her, she smiled really big back at him!! At the time I didn't know who he was. I only felt that he liked to wear a three piece suit. When my Dad came I was in the hospital and had just had surgery and was walking up the hall like I had been told to. Kind of lost my balance and felt like a wall at my shoulder and heard him say"Looks like you got a hitch in your get-along". Just like him! And I wondered if he was the reason they found the cancer so early. Since then he was back to ask me about the lies my mother told him about me. I told him the truth and he seemed more relaxed after that. Happier.

I hear that if you wear tiger's eye stones, it keeps away spirits. Try that.

25. My night in a haunted house in July, 1969...
Sun Oct 28, 2018, 08:41 PM
Oct 2018

In 1969, I went with one of my aunts to Christchurch, New York to visit another aunt, an uncle and a cousin. They lived in an ancient house which had been the residence of the Pastor of the likewise ancient, boarded-up church on the same property.

The church had been inactive for maybe 40 years, and there was a graveyard behind the house and church. The most recent date I could find on a grave marker was the late 1920s, with the earliest dating to the 1700s.

My cousin, who at 18 was 4 years older than me, was interested in the occult, and had a collection of occult books and magazines, along with a Ouija Board.

After perusing some of the books and magazines, my cousin suggested we give the Ouija Board a whirl. I had my doubts that it would work, but it worked so well that instead of both of us touching the platen while asking questions, we went to only one of us touching it, and the other would ask questions that we each felt sure the other would not know the answers to.

The board answered questions that I am certain my cousin could not possibly know the answers to, since I had not seen her in almost 10 years and we lived far from each other and had no direct communication with each other the whole time.

My cousin told me that we should ask the board: what was the name of the spirit in the board. The board answered that it would not reveal its name, because there was a non-believer present. When we asked, "who is the non-believer?" - it spelled my name.

At that point, we put the board away, and decided to call it a night. My cousin went to her bedroom, while my sleeping accommodation - in the same room as the Ouija Board - was a roll-out cot with only a sheet, as it was a hot July night in upstate New York.

I laid down on the cot, and within minutes, I felt the sheet covering me move about an inch, as if it was being tugged at the end of the cot by someone...except there was nobody there.

As I laid there, literally paralyzed with fear for several more minutes, the tugging on the sheet continued, inch by inch, until the sheet was all the way down to my ankles.

At that point, I got up and went into an adjoining room where the aunt I was traveling with was sleeping. I told her I was having difficulty sleeping in the other room, so I slept on the floor of that room the rest of the night.

In the morning, I asked my aunt that lived in the house, why was the basement totally empty? There was not a single box or item in storage down there. My uncle answered for her, saying that she insisted that nothing be down there so that she'd have no reason to go into the basement to retrieve anything, as the basement was haunted.

I never told any of them what had happened with the Ouija Board and the sheet being pulled off of me until I saw them all again in 1994, at a family gathering for the funeral of my father.

The aunt and uncle that had lived in that house 25 years earlier said that the reason they moved out not long after my visit was because the place was haunted - and not just the basement.

As an atheist, I have never been able to explain just WTF happened that night in 1969, in Christchurch, New York, in the house with a graveyard behind it, but I swear on a stack o' bibles that this story is true.

And, as I said, I had not seen or had any contact with my cousin since we were young children, so she could not have known the answers to the questions I asked while only her fingers were touching the platen.
