My sister called me in tears from Vero Beach

First words: “Gillum May win!”

She came from the library where there was early voting going on. (She already voted/was returning a book). Said lots of posters and excitement for Gillum. Said in 2016 it was ugly. All Trump, all Republican, nasty and hostile. She said the Republican and Democratic volunteers were getting along today, very good vibe, lots of dem excitement.

She was in tears because she thinks we have a chance. Me?? I am the most pessimistic person in the world and I actually think we are going to win in Florida.

Indian River County May overperform for Dems this year.

Friend posted on FB that CLay County has big Democratic surge and Repugs only voting 32%. CLay will overperform for us!

Broward County .... get off your couches... we can end this thing this weekend!!!

1. electing Gillum will be huge, as well as reelecting Nelson. Both are appearing to

be very possible now. The attacks on Gillum are bringing out MORE supporters for him as your intelligent white female voter hates the nastiness of the gOP towards women in general and racism even more. Goes hand in hand. GOP creating NO NEW voters at all and we must thank them Nov 7th

3. Will definitely be huge!

Gillum has a platform to raise teacher salaries, which is both smart and right. Even when you are not a teacher, you see that that’s a respectful nod to mostly female labor.

Gillum’s political skills, in general, have been a thing of beauty.

2. My son and fianc early voted in Boca

First time either of them voted in Florida. He’s from PA where we don’t have early voting at all and he was totally delighted about it. Both straight D of course.

5. Great to hear about Clay county

I used to go "to town" to Keystone Heights when I was a kid with my grandparents. They had traffic lights instead of just stop signs.

6. Thank you for memory sharing!

I don’t know clay county very well. My friend is a landscaper by trade, UF liberal, likes to fish and is our undercover spy in red Florida. He was pretty moved by what he saw in voting trend there.

9. I'm with you: persistently determined, but not blinded by hope. Will celebrate when it happens.

Not before. It's been a lifetime of being crushed with defeats, always with our candidates being the better, most intelligent, noble, public service oriented ones, with the "winners" being jerks, scoundrels, grifters and worse.

10. A Facebook friend has been posting that hope is part of the resistance

I have taken that to heart since I am usually pessimistic.

Being hopeful is not going to make us lose and is not going to make us win. It’s just what I am feeling now. Nothing bad is going to happen to me because I am hopeful. I will be devastated if we lose, whether I’m hopeful or not.

12. I'm probably not saying it right. Persistent/determination/keeping-on is my way of hope.

15. I will be beside myself!

We must be ready to celebrate winning the house as a major victory, even if that is all that we win. Texas Georgia and Florida would be exceptional.

16. I'm in St Johns County, Republicans out number Dems 3-1.

I have never seen so many Democratic signs for Gillum and Nelson as I’ve seen in the past week. Even in areas I would think it’s 100% Repug. Polling place parking lot has been filled everyday since early voting started. Even on last election it wasn’t like that. Saw several houses next door to one another, one will have Gillum / Nelson signs and their neighbor has a Scott / DeSantis signs

Not optimistic this county will go “blue” but we just might give them a run for their money.

Oh, did I mention DeSantis lives in my county?
