(24,051 posts)It is exactly how I feel.
I've heard, many times, that if you don't like liver, then you've never had it prepared properly. Guess I never have. Never want to, either.

(1,483 posts)If we eat meat it really should be organ meats. That's where all the vitamins are!

(1,483 posts)Well, part of my argument is anecdotal. The longest lived people in my life were kind of the eccentric eaters.
Coffee gelatin, goat's milk instead of cow's milk, liver once a week. No alcohol. If they ate a steak they would eat the gristle. No sugar. They ate like it was 1933 and they didn't take medications.
The other part of my pro organ meat argument is that the liver is more like a chemical processing plant than a filter. If the liver is toxic the whole animal is toxic.
Practically we should all just be eating mealworms, tbh.

(15,805 posts)I do something similar, swapping butter for mayo, and I also add some mashed roasted garlic and a drizzel of sherry. Works with any type of leftover liver, and even freshly cooked... Yummy spread on slices of crusty baget.!
