apparently, walking through doorways makes you forget things.
i suspect that we tend to compartmentalize things by rooms or other contexts or situations. so if you decide in the kitchen that you need something from the den, then you go to the den, you might leave the thought that you needed something in the kitchen and have a tough time remembering it once you're in the den. if you go back to the place where you thought you needed something from the den, you'll probably remember what you needed. hopefully you'll remember it longer this time. or to write it down
