Was lucky enough to speak with her through her daughter.
Gracious, humble & sweet--Her voice though. SO silky.
Talent like hers won't be seen anytime soon.
Rest in peace beautiful, talented, kind and sweet lady 🙏🏻

(8,709 posts)8. Aww, you beat me to You're as Right as Rain
When she sings, "I don't feel that way," I don't thing I've ever heard a voice with such sentiment of welcome.

(13,598 posts)5. Great vocalist, and her Jazz Profiles series
on NPR was a wonderful program. You can still hear these brilliant documentaries about many jazz legends here:

I can't tell you how many Nancy's I know, including my niece, named after Ms. Wilson full of grace.
You're as right as rain
Mellow as a shower on a summer's day
You're as right as rain
Softer than a flower, sweet as marmalade
You're made that way
Every man has a secret dream
Quiet thoughts trap his inner need
To open and tell someone
Of the things he's hiding from
Sometimes it's a childish game
We play but I don't feel that way
