When Princess Diana was getting married - what was that, 35 years ago? - my 9 or 10 year old daughter had an older lady say to her, "Ooh, aren't you excited about the pretty Princess getting married?" Without hesitation, she blurted out, "The whole family should have been shot in a revolution 100 years ago like all the other royal families."
The look my wife gave me knew I was going to get one of her lectures about not viewing everything in a political context and to let my little girl grow up without being a weirdo. She's no longer my wife, but that little girl is now a radical badass liberal who has a 15 year old son who has gotten into trouble at school for telling his classmates what an asshole Trump is.
