(4,571 posts)He was a demon on wheels.
OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)He's gonna be chasing after someone.
My mom often teased me about the time l transferred to a new school in the middle of 4th grade and cried because the new school hours went until after Speed Racer was on so I wouldn't get to see it any more.
I showed her though. I skipped many days of school and stayed home to watch it. No idea how I got away with that big I figure with my folks both working and in the process of divorcing I was lower on the priority list. Score! Lol.
Not too long ago my daughter and I went to Comic-Con and she bought me a Mach 5 key chain. One of the best things she ever gave me.

(4,571 posts)In the third grade Joey Braham and I got into a bit of a footsy match during math class and had to stay after school.
Which would mean we would not make it home in time for Speed Racer. Joey tried to negotiate with the teacher, "Can't we do this tomorrow? We are going to miss Speed Racer and this is the episode where he finally figures out Racer X is really his brother!"
She was unmoved. So we had to wait another 10 weeks or so for that episode to come around again.
OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)Heartless!
My little brother uses Racer X for his avatar on most online fora. Which I tease him about since he's the little brother. He says he's still older than our youngest brother so it counts.
