First time cooking on a gas stove and absolutely loving it! I am a good cook. Good cajun, homemade

southern food. Moved to a place with a gas stove. Always had electric. I will never go back! Gas is the best! Every meal has tasted fantastic! When we finally build our "forever" home, a gas stove will now be top priority!

She grew up on gas. Married, first apt had electric stove. Hated it. Moved three diff times, all electric. Finally moved 4.5 years ago to live with my mom, finally gas. She is one happy lady.

I grew up with an electric stove, didn't discover gas until I got my own apartment, have stuck with it ever since.

gas. There's nothing like turning a burner on high and then, instantaneously, turning it to low. One day I will have a has range again.

The older ones, not so much.

30 years ago, I lived in a house with a gas stove/oven that you had to light with match sticks. And when you lit the oven, you put on just a little gas, opened the door and threw the lit match into the bowels, knowing that it would "flash".

the top igniters are fine, it is those things in the oven that suck.

Much easier heat regulation - for everything from corned beef & cabbage to jambalaya to moose roasts. Electric just doesn't hack it. C'mon up for the best black eyed peas and collards! I found collards!!!

I guess gourmet cooks insist on them because there is more control. On the other hand, I've also heard that electric ovens were better than gas.

and I still haven't forgotten how much I hated it. If I ever move somewhere I can't get a gas line, I'll do propane.
