Funny - Lifehack on buying shoes

Try doing your shoe shopping after 3pm. Feet swell after a bit of walking, so by trying on shoes in the late afternoon, you'll ensure that you'll get the most comfortable fit.

This is of course only true if you wake up in the morning and have done a bit of walking. If you don't wake up until the afternoon, then you should just finish grad school.

your left foot will be bigger and vice versa. Also try them with the type of socks you will be wearing with them.

Well at least since I had a “cowboy outfit” when I was a child.

Couldn’t find a pair of boots that were acceptable as casual and in the Office. It’s either granola or metro.

Pretty comfortable so far. Oh, not the pointy kind. These are really work boots made by a Mexican boot company.

Bato Trabajo
Model 34592 $80-85 + ship
All leather. No pointy toe and no design on them. They look like regular office type shoes in khakis. Found on Amazon.

I also found model 34594 for $41 at a site called Calza fino. Shipping was $24. No idea about that site. Order quantity 1 so I hope that means a pair and I didn’t just order one boot. 😁. Really close to the model above. Brown.

Lots of nice boots come from Mexico. Many years ago when I live in El Paso you could go across the border and get a bespoke pair dirt cheap.

So appreciated!

Not for me but for a family member who is getting a new pair of boots. I was expecting to pay way more and knowing this is a good make is so helpful to me. Mahalo!

I am wearing a pair of Mexican-made Noconas even as I keyboard. I wore them yesterday too. Mighty warm in these cold temps.

{edited} Never mind. I see that you have already done so.

It's also true that your foot will sink into the midsole as they break in and leather shoes will stretch ever so slightly after break in and mold to your foot. They also sell shoe stretchers and sometimes retailers like some Red Wing shops will stretch them for you although this is only a good idea if they don't break your in enough to fit your feet.

I actually prefer to buy footware in the morning for these reasons as it allows me to better judge how they will feel after break in as the amount of give is approximately the same as how much your feet swell.

With new shoes I will wear them for just a few hours at a time until they break in. Better shoe retailers will exchange a pair after a few weeks if they don't break in properly.

Foot swelling during the flight can make it impossible to get your shoes back on!

You probably won't be able to get it back on due to swelling.
