Wow! Today's my 79th birthday! Simply impossible to believe!

I always hoped I'd reach 60--I wanted to see the 'new milenium'. As soon as I was old enuff to know what that meant, I checked to see if I would see it. My mom(1913-2005), in her later yrs, made seeing in the yr 2000 a major goal. After reading about the '
prophesies around 2012 she hoped to see that yr in too.

My daughter kept going to emergency for "stomach" problems and getting released because everything was ok. Well she ended up her first year of college with a burst appendix. That was not good.

actually saw my appendix was abnormal via a hip MRI for hip pain.

colonoscopy was normal, so the prevailing thought is they go in there, snip it out, don't find anything in the area, and when they check it out, it's not cancerous...but even if it is, if it's contained within the appendix, no worries. If not, there might be some individual cells possibly somewhere but it's a slow growing/nonaggressive type of cancer if present so just got monitor it.

I'm looking at it as a fortuitous finding.

sound all too familiar. I asked about an MRI but was told that the DR said if he could jump up and down he was okay. Really???

they look at everything...twice sometimes.

Quality of the military docs varies widely but I'm lucky to be assigned to one of the premier Army medical centers in the country.

If only all healthcare were like that.

My Mom passed at 62. When I reached that age, I realized how really young she still was and I'm thankful for each year I've had since.
