Van Halen "abruptly postpones more than 30 long-planned dates" (source: "they hate each other")

Van Halen Postpone Summer Tour Dates
All shows after June 26th pulled from band's website

Van Halen have abruptly postponed all tour dates after their June 26th show in New Orleans with no explanation.

The band yanked more than 30 long-planned dates, including shows in Milwaukee, Detroit, Cleveland, Salt Lake City and El Paso. Local promoters United Concerts and AEG issued statements regarding some postponed shows to local media, including the Salt Lake Tribune and Las Cruces Sun-News, but no details have been offered yet about rescheduled dates or refunds.

Nearly all of the tour is promoted by Live Nation, whose reps wouldn't comment. The band's rep also had no comment. A source with knowledge of the tour tells Rolling Stone that Van Halen's members "hate each other." Adds the source, "The band is arguing like mad. They are fighting."

News of the postponed tour dates surprised several arena reps, who are featuring upcoming Van Halen shows prominently on their websites. "You want to know the absolute fuckin' truth? I have no fuckin' idea," another concert-business source with knowledge of the tour tells Rolling Stone.

I side with them. I saw them when Sammy was singing....they kicked ass. Great tunes...Amsterdam, Poundcake, Black and Blue. I like old VH, but at this point hang it up.

this weekend. Can't blame them if they all still hate Dave - he seems like an epic asshole.

Holy Crap is Wolfgang a big kid! That bass looks like a toy on him.

Personally, I always liked Dave's stage persona, and thought it was half the allure of Van Halen. Eddie's guitar work being the other half. 'Course Anthony's bass work and Alex's drumming was another half. Wait, that make 150%. I'm getting confused.

It's said that Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers made such a great team because "Ginger made Fred look sexy, and Fred made Ginger look classy." I believe Van Halen was successful for the same reason. Without Roth, Eddie Van Halen was just a nerdy-looking guitar twiddler; without Eddie, David Lee Roth was just another overgrown beach bum. Eddie coasted on Dave's sex appeal, Dave coasted on Eddie's artistic merit, and it resulted in rock history.

If they were smart, Eddie and Dave would now be living happily ever after on the nostalgia circuit. You were right to do a cover of Just A Gigolo, Dave...

... so we should be surprised that this 'reconciliation' only lasted 2 months?
