yes, they are awesome. We have been rescuing them for 20 years now. We have never had less than 3 and sometimes as many as 7. Unfortunately, ferrets are an "impulse buy" with most new owners not knowing how much care is required to keep as pets in a responsible manner. Thus, they are tossed aside early in their lives. We have rescued ferrets from abandoned homes, parking lots of fast food places and have driving 400 miles to pick them up from foster homes.

I say none of this to brag, but rather just to hint at how much we love them. If you ever do get one or two, hide all your valuables...they are little thieves. But in a good way.
