Hello. I have been lurking on DU since 2006, when I was a junior in college. One of my lab partners at our university showed me this site along with Daily Kos and Crooks and Liars. Anyway, I have never been one to post much about anything. I always have been paranoid of something that I have written coming back to bite me in the 6 o’clock. I don’t have Facebook or any other social media. I am in the minority in my age group for my lack of online presence. But I am slowly coming out of shell, so to speak. So hopefully I’ll contribute something somewhere that will help someone make an informed decision.

15. I got some last week!

My wife found a pair in a joke (ish) shop that are very smart looking. But if you pull up your trousers, it reveals the words “This Meeting is Bull$h#%”. Except it isn’t censored on the real socks. I wore them to a mgmt mandatory meeting that was scheduled -once again- on my RDO (regular day off), and made sure a few of my colleagues laughed when they saw them.

18. I wasn't very smart about first posting here.

I wasn't even aware of where I was posting. But I read an OP about an issue that is near to me and when I tried to respond I was prompted to make an account. So I did and then poured my heart out.

I really lucked out that I happened to be in a women's group where the DUers took me in like I was a long lost family member. It felt like I had found my way home and I haven't left since that day (in 2006).

Welcome, Vdizzle. I'm glad you've taken the, kind of, scary first step to register and start posting. You're going to fit right in. I look forward to reading what you've got to say.
