I almost said I'd never been skiing, and then recalled that I have done cross country (at a very amateur level and long ago).

Of course you have. Everyone has. You may not have realized you're being tested, but ...

As far as punching, I have never thrown the first punch.
I need to get to Niagra Falls. The other three are not going to happen (even though I do have two wonderful daughters that my wonderful wife gave me).
well 4 if you count the test I walked out on because it was my 4th college final in 2 days and I drew a total and complete blank -- I later contacted the Prof and told him what happened and he let me do a redo on the spot -- Passed fairly easily!

(26,095 posts)I've hit people when I was younger, but never hard or seriously so not sure if I should count 'punched someone", don't really think so.
I never failed a test and don't have a tattoo. My husband and I were going to get one together, he picked his out quickly but I was agonizing over my choice. When I went back into his room to show him my pick, there were streams of blood running down his arm from 5 different spots. It shocked me and freaked me out and 20 years later I still have pristine skin.

(40,780 posts)I was by my wife's side when our children were born.
When my wife was pregnant she insisted I learn how to deliver babies, even by C-section if necessary, in case there was some catastrophe and we couldn't get to a hospital. That was soon after the Loma Prieta earthquake, so it was a perfectly logical precaution from the perspective of a pregnant woman.
I've changed at least 10,000 diapers. It's one of many useful life skills I learned as a child.
When I'm on skis I'm an embarrassment to my family and friends and a danger to myself and others, so maybe I shouldn't call that skiing.
I quit high school for college, but I'm a high school graduate by some technicality. I'm not sure how that worked, but principals then had the power to do that. I didn't take the GED like my younger sister did after she quit. I still have dreams sometimes that I'm being forced to complete high school, even though I've graduated from college and been a science teacher myself. Adults who had a positive high school experience gave me a huge ration of shit for quitting high school. My own middle and high school experience was Lord of the Flies. Quitting high school was one of the better decisions I've made in my life.
I'm competent with a gun, I've been hunting, I've been threatened with guns, I've seen people shot, but I don't let anyone I'd care to shoot live in my head. The second amendment as it's currently interpreted is bullshit. U.S.A. gun culture needs to die along with racism and science-denying religious fundamentalism.
I hate needles. I look away when I get a flu shot. I certainly look away when I'm getting stitched up. I have a mess of siblings. They all have tattoos. So do their spouses. I don't.
I hate flying too, but unlike tattoos, flying is sometimes unavoidable for social reasons.
So, three items: 4, 7, 15.
