When Lowell was in the last version of the Mothers, he played "Willin" to Frank Zappa, who fired him because it wasn't a Mothers kind of song and made him go out and form Little Feat. Conviceted child molester and original Mothers member Roy Estrada was also in Little Feat at the beginning, but left for Captain Beefheart.

Linda Ronstadt's comes to mind as one of the earliest and best.
Gregg Allman did one on his last release.
But nothing beats the original from Lowell and the band!
